Icky Germs

I know that germs serve a purpose - but I'd really like to eradicate them from our home! Here's a recap of life for Aaron lately:

Saturday, December 19: trip to Urgent Care for an oral steroid for croup and antibiotics for an ear infection. He was still happy thru this ordeal - amazing to me!

New Year's Eve: eyes starting oozing and I feared pink-eye. Starting coughing a bit. Hands constantly in his mouth - is it teething??

New Year's Day - not faring so great - but still pretty happy.

Monday, January 4: eyes are oozing like mad! They actually get matted shut.

Tuesday, January 5: take him to see Dr. He gets a nasal swab that reads positive for RSV. Looked in ears and determined he has ear infection (still/again). Goes to get a chest x-ray to make sure it's not pneumonia. The device they have to use for babies looks like a mid-evil torture device! They sit on something resembling a saw horse and then their arms are stuck over their head while a plastic device wraps around their entire body. He didn't have a shirt on and somehow that made it look even worse! It was very difficult for Mommy not to cry! We headed back to the Dr's office where Aaron got a nebulizer treatment. Off to the Pharmacy to get antibiotic, nebulizer and albuterol. Aaron proceeds to projectile vomit 4 times in the space of about 14 hours. Determine it's from the antibiotic and need to get a new one. He's been sleeping pretty much on Mommy or Daddy - so needless to say they are not getting much sleep. Last night he did manage to sleep in his very elevated crib for about 6 hours!! He woke up looking like he went to battle and lost! He had the biggest blood clotted nose!

I think even Falco feels bad for the boy b/c he lays next to him as to protect him and keep him jolly - or at least as jolly as can be expected.

Oh, little Aaron - may Jesus' healing power wash over you and thru you to bring you to full health!

Less Talk. More Rock!

Of course I think my boys are rockstars - I'm not prejudiced at all. :) Uncle Seth introduced Nathan to guitars and life in our house has never been the same. The boy can't contain himself when he hears music. His whole body starts to girate like Elvis! Just the other night he was dancing and playing his air guitar when he came over to me and held out his hand saying, "Come on stage with me little lady." No joke! The stage happens to be anywhere we play our air guitars, throw our heads around like crazy and shake our "boom-shaka-laka-bootie skakers" as Nathan likes to say. Did I say life was interesting in our house? Aaron just stares and giggles at his crazy big brother. I think he already knows his older brother is crazy kid - so much fun!

This one's for you Jarrett!

Nathan's buddy Jarrett was over last Sunday night and before heading home they had fun splashing around in the tub. Definitely need to save this one for the wedding slide show some day!

Aaron is 5 months!

It's hard to believe that Aaron is already 5 months! He's rolling around, jabbering up a storm, eating cereal like a pro and gaining more and more rolls. By 5 months he's already had the flu with a trip to Urgent Care Thanksgiving weekend. He's thankfully happy and healthy now!

Hard to get a picture of him at times when he's not "talking"

God said I could...

Conversation with Nathan yesterday morning in the van:

Nathan: I want to watch a movie
Me: not right now, honey. We don't have far to go
Nathan: but I want to watch Happy Feet
Me: you just got done watching some cartoons. You don't need to watch TV all day
Nathan: But God said I could
Me: What???
Nathan: God said I could watch TV all day
Me: Oh, really? When did he tell you this?
Nathan: this morning. He said I could watch TV all day
Me: well, I don't really think he would tell you something like that. I'll have to talk to him
Nathan: you do that, Mommy. He told me I could

Um, Wow.

Aaron is 4 months!

I can't believe! Aaron is already 4 months old - where has the time gone? He is such a bundle of joy that makes my heart melt. He is talking and laughing so much now. One of his favorite places to hang out is in the window seat under his hanging toys batting at them. He chews on his hands like they are smothered in the best thing he's ever tasted.
The other night we all watched a movie together and at the end of the movie Chad and I were holding the boys dancing and singing our hearts out. Aaron was laughing it up and my heart was so full and happy that I thought my heart my explode from sheer joy! I am amazingly blessed by these precious boys and man in my life. Thank you, Jesus!
