Night Eyes

Last night we headed to Des Moines to meet up with Heather and Seth to go to Night Eyes at the Blank Park Zoo. None of us have been there before and we had a blast! We were lucky and didn't get rained on while we were there - if it had rained at least his little lizard/dragon head would have protected his face! I think us adults had more fun watching Nathan walk around in his awesome lizard/dragon costume!
First we had to load up our tummies with food at Apple Bees.

Nathan was excited as soon as we walked thru the door because he saw Curious George!

We were all excited because they even gave us candy bags!

Nathan is getting so good at posing for pictures. People were just chuckling as they walked by watching him "cheese" for these pictures!

The lions were pretty fiesty last night and Nathan needed Uncle Seth to hold him!

Seth and Nathan have a pretty special relationship and we just love watching Seth and Heather with Nathan. Last night Nathan was all about those two - we don't think he even noticed that Mom and Dad were around half the time! Hilarious! I mean, they are younger, definitely cooler and have an awesome dog that Nathan is in love with!

We did manage to get a picture with him though :)

I'd say the evening was a great success and we'll definitely have to go back next year. The only bummer was that you don't get to see very many animals - but you sure get a lot of candy! Thankfully he hasn't remembered that we have it quite yet. I'm sure it won't be that way next year! I love his expressions in these two pictures - hilarious!


After Night Eyes we headed to Seth and Heather's house so Nathan could chase Riley. We enjoyed watching him play the drums and banjo and try to slide down the stair post like a fireman. You'll have to check out the Comfort's blog for additional photos once they have it up.
